About Us

Muru’s mission is to empower medics with instant access to the right medical guidance — so they can save more lives.

Today, emergency medical professionals make split-second decisions using protocols scattered across PDFs, binders, and countless websites. Muru unifies that chaos into one intelligent system — the “Siri of Emergency Medicine” — giving medics answers instantly and ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.

Our tools are trusted by organizations from the State of New York, servicing 90,000 paramedics, to the Department of Defense, where we’ve helped millions of patients year after year.

We’re a mission-driven, growing company where engineers have a direct hand in building products that truly impact lives — from right outside our office to around the world.

Join a Mission-Driven Team

We’re seeking passionate individuals who are inspired by meaningful work, driven by purpose, and enjoy working for a mission they believe in. Ideal candidates thrive in collaborative environments, surround themselves with exceptional peers so they can grow, and understand that the best products emerge from close-knit, high-performing teams. You will be provided with the tools and team you need to succeed, along with the independence to accomplish your work the way that’s best for you.

Role Overview

Muru is expanding its engineering team as we scale to serve thousands of medics and institutions across the country. We’re looking for a Senior Web Engineer who can help shape our product, technology, and engineering culture.

In this role you will guide architecture and product direction while contributing code. You’ll work closely with our product and design teams to build secure, fast, and powerful web experiences, and you’ll play a significant role in growing our engineering organization as Muru scales.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development across Muru’s core web products — from architecture to release.

  • Partner with product, design, and operations teams to deliver features that save medics time and improve patient outcomes.

  • Make key technical decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across our platform.

  • Mentor and guide future engineers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Contribute hands-on to critical codebases and lead high-impact projects.

  • Define and own the engineering roadmap, aligning tech priorities with company goals.

  • Champion development best practices — from testing and documentation to dev experience and performance.
Qualifications
  • Have 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Are highly proficient with modern web technologies, CI/CD tools, and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Thrive in a startup setting, balancing velocity and pragmatism without sacrificing code quality.

  • Have experience driving projects from idea to production, with strong ownership and accountability.

  • Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating across functions.
  • Care deeply about building technology that directly impacts people’s lives.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with FedRAMP and/or SOC 2 compliance.

  • Background in mobile-first design or hybrid app development.

  • Familiarity with Amplitude or other product analytics tools.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate workflows.
  • Prior experience in healthtech, govtech, or mission-critical systems.
Who You’ll Work With

You’ll report to the CEO and collaborate closely with:

  • Product and design to shape the user experience

  • Customers and field medics to translate real-world needs into elegant technical solutions

This is a high-ownership role where your leadership and code will directly influence how emergency care is delivered nationwide.
