Role Overview

The Senior Manager of Public Health & EMS Programs is responsible for shaping and executing long-term initiatives. This position oversees the accuracy and integrity of critical data—such as hospital content, social services, and state, local, and federal EMS guidelines—as well as implementing new data repositories in response to market needs. The Senior Manager will also drive innovation through new offerings like social services pathways and national hospital criteria for EMS. This role balances high-level planning with hands-on execution, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and timely updates across platforms. Acting as a key liaison with government agencies and healthcare partners, this leader will guide programs that advance public health objectives today and create a foundation for future initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in long-term planning to advance public health programs and data objectives.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives to scale product offerings, including the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and methodologies for system improvements.
  • Represent Muru at regular state/federal meetings and advocate for system-level improvements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, EMS agencies, and governing bodies to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in Muru’s content management system.
  • Audit existing data for accuracy and completeness. Implement manual and automated quality assurance measures.
  • Create quarterly reports for public sector and military clients.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare operations, public health, EMS, emergency management, military medical/administration, or similar roles.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and workflows, engaging in problem solving and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with data management, policy work, or quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for system-level improvements and represent organization at high-visibility meetings, including with state or federal agencies, hospitals, or governing bodies.
  • Excellent organization, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to attend meetings, events, and client sites.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, policy, emergency management or related field.
  • Experience as an EMT or paramedic.
  • Experience with Jira, Airtable, AI productivity tools, data visualization, and web content management systems.

Compensation

$120,000 – $150,000 per year based on education, experience, and qualifications, plus equity in the company and robust healthcare benefits.

Hybrid Work Policy

To foster a collaborative and flexible work environment, Muru supports a hybrid work policy. We work from an office at 1 Liberty Street in New York City approximately two times a week.
